Best Two Photos of Boys recently

I love these photos that I took at the "Train Place" during the recent School holidays. They had a "Circus Train" theme with lots of dress-ups and my two threw themselves into it with great gusto as you can see here. The annual passes we bought are some of the wisest purchases we've ever made!

A Morning at the Fete

Today we attended the annual fete at a local school. Before it opened I took both boys with me to Mass. They were quite well behaved - for change.
Highlights were when J asked very loudly why was there a hole in roof over the altar. To which I replied it was a skylight and he asked very earnestly what would happen when the hail came in? The at the "Sign of Peace" A solemnly shook hands with a man in the seat behind us and then shouted at the top of his voice, "Yes, and after this we're going on the RIDES!" I reckon that he could have been heard from the back seat of the church.
They went on all the little kid rides courtesy of $10 each from Grandma, we had morning tea and they played on both playgrounds with Dad while I scouted quickly around the stalls. Then they both went into the baby animals. J was happy enough to leave after about 10 minutes and went off home with Dad while I stayed at least another 15 mins with A. He announced on the way home that he really would like a baby pig. Not in this lifetime buster!

Some New Family Members

We inherited a pair of hermit crabs last Sunday from some old pre-school friends who have moved to Perth. (Apparently it is VERY difficult to transport hermit crabs to Perth!) They have been named Donkey (the one on the left with a smooth shell) and Mouse (the one on the right with a more rugged look). Yes, we did allow our children to name pets and those are the exact names they came up with. They never cease to be amused with the fact that their father once owned a cat called "Mouse".

We've got them established as comfortably as possible in a rather small tank but we're hoping to get hold of something larger soon to accomodate crabs, bigger shells to move into, drinking water, food dish, salt water bath and sponge for humidity. The boys and I bought the bath today and it came with the free plastic palm tree - don;t know how much that impresses the crabs but it looks cute.

I probably get to see the most action in between my regular TV viewing because they are more active at night. Both boys have handled them but are very tentative. We were particularly proud of A for picking them up and putting them down gently.

Welcome to the Mcfrog Chronicles

If you know us you'll soon fathom out who J and A are and if you don't know us then it's none of your business anyway!
I thought it would be nice to have spot where we could share some news and photos and to keep records of the little things that might otherwise be forgotten about over time. We would love for our readers to leave comments and you don't need to be signed up to Blogger in order to do so.
This blog will be updated whenever I get the time which is usually weekends.
